Good Morning and Critters… I’m Tired

Time it Takes to Read:

[read_time]

This is not a happy post. Do not be fooled by the Good Morning title, I'm tired:

Sarah and I have a critter and I'm tired...

We have uninvited guests.

There is a mouse in the house and it is not fun; nor is it cool. I feel as it may be a little bit larger than just a regular lil ole mouse. Perhaps, I am thinking it is a chipmunk, but either way, it is in our attic and we are not able to get it to stop gnawing away at our hard-earned sleep. Furthermore; I am INFURIATED! We don't know what to do! Sarah was near tears last night and actually left the room and went and slept on the couch. My phone sent a sound recording to my friend that is a pest specialist in the hopes that he would be able to determine the best course of action to get rid of this critter. I am not above stabbing holes in the ceiling and permeating that area with a poison bomb and leaving the house for a few days. Being pretty aggravated that my wife did not feel safe enough to sleep in the room with me. AND of course, it only happens at night. So we know that it is a nocturnal animal.

Sarah bought this airhorn as a gag gift, a few years back, and it seems that this gets them to stop gnawing for a while. It was enough for me to fall to sleep and then I wake up to it again in the morning.

This is an utter nuisance because I'm tired...

I'm tired. Like really tired. Between finishing up a refresh project, a couple of jobs for Blue Byte Tech, and the houses that we are setting for ModWay, am tired. See the pictures of my truck in Alaska and you will understand the kind of tired I am. Like Michael Clarke Duncan tired from the Green Mile!

Kinda, maybe not that kind of tired... Probably more like this:

That's probably the more appropriate visual as of late.

On a more positive note:

We are living the American dream, regardless of our nocturnal visitors - our very loud, stupid, scared of loud noises nocturnal visitors, we are living the work from home jobs. Our employers are AMAZING people! I don't care what they say about you all Ed, Adrianna, and Adam: ya'll pretty great in my book!

The audio is barely audible, but I recorded that this morning from my room as I woke up, but make sure to listen closely. This audio is faint, but this is the reason why Sarah is mad at the room.

I WILL WIN THIS WAR!!!!

Remember that, know that! I will win the war with the critter. To the critter, I have unlimited resources, to me and Sarah, I have tenacity. Going to make it happen. We are going to douse it with Peppermint or Sriacha sauce or something... I don't know. Just got to get rid of it.
