FreedomSystem.org, Incorporated (FSO), a non-profit organization recognized by the IRS with a 501(c)(3) is trying to expand. FSO wants to expand their roles in the Northern Indiana area. FSO desires to become the premier Veteran Service Organization, in order to help our Veterans.
FSO will work in close conjunction with other Veteran Service Organizations in the Northern Indiana Area to make certain that the Veterans in this area are completely covered, and have access to all of the benefits that they have earned.
The reason for this is simple the Veterans Administration in this area has failed. The abysmal attitude to Veterans on a consistent basis have made it almost impossible to be able to want any type of help from them on the mental health side of things. Furthermore, the medical side is atrocious as well. There are Veterans that are suffering from very real ailments that are not being seen, nor do they know that these benefits are available to them. As Veteran Servicers need to be able to outreach to Veterans to get them help.
FreedomSystem.org will try to take the load off of the VA, and try to help bridge the service gap for our Veterans to healthcare. FSO will have a brick and mortar front to accompany their website. This brick and mortar building will have a dayroom, where Veterans can sit and meet, discuss life, enjoy dinner with one another (they provide), watch a movie, or play a game of pool, or even a video game if they so choose. Also in this front FSO plans on having a licensed therapist, preferably a Veteran, to help have one-on-ones with Veterans that do not want to use the mental health side of the Veterans Administration. This therapist will also have focus groups that focus on Veteran issues that are best suited in group functions. FSO is looking to partner with mental health agencies in the area such as the Bowen Center and Oaklawn Psychiatric Center until the time FSO can hire their own.
The brick and mortar front will also host a warming center in the winter months. Note: not a homeless shelter, but a warming center for a homeless Veteran to come in off the street and get a couple hours of sleep on a cot, until it warms up. FreedomSystem.org will assist in finding housing for them, if they so desire, by utilizing other Veteran Service Organizations in the area.
The brick and mortar front will help expand current services that FreedomSystem.org offers such as: Resume Writing, Job Placement, Martial Arts classes, and Photography services.
In the meantime, FreedomSystem.org, will continue its mission of helping Veterans, by writing articles of inspiration, hope, and instilling confidence. Including historically accurate documentation of this countries founding and military. FSO will continue to provide service help to other Veteran Service Organizations in order to raise Veteran Issue Awareness. Also hosting fundraisers throughout the area to raise funds for FreedomSystem.org’s mission. Currently FreedomSystem.org has a board of five members, and it employs zero, a completely volunteer organization, as of now.
